What we did in the World Sight Day 2009

RETINA MADRID
In Madrid Eye Care points installed in two of the busiest markets with public Madrid: Wonderland Market (Calle de Bravo Murillo, 122) and the Market Peace (Calle de Ayala, 28). Both places told by an ophthalmologist who performed an intraocular pressure test to 120 people.

Retina Navarra
1 .- Entertainment for everyone. is the film "Fly Me to the Moon", in Hall 1 of the Golem cinemas Bayonne, on September 22, at 20 hours. This projection was adapted for people with visual and hearing impaired.

2 .- Café conversation with the Minister of Health. To mark World Retina Day we had a coffee with the Minister of Health Doña María Kutz, director of Virgen del Camino Hospital in Pamplona and Henar Heras, Retina team ophthalmologist at the hospital. Virgen del Camino. Media attended. Took place at 10 am, Sept. 29 at the Hotel Blanca de Navarra. Were treated the theme of World Day of the vision and retinal degenerative diseases.



3 .- "Workshop for sharing experiences, everyday life." was organized with the intention of sharing our experiences in performing activities of daily living. It was Sept. 29, at 17 hours at the headquarters of Retina Navarra.

4 - Poetry reading erotic Fatima Moreira, visually impaired and winner of the II International Poetry Prize Erotic-Loving, Ateneo Guipuzcoano. This activity took place on day 2 of October CIVIC 20 hours.

5 - From 5 to 9 October, celebrated Pamplona Film Festival . The sessions available are projected at 20 hours, the sessions are audio described for people with visual disabilities. .

6 - putting up posters of the World Day of vision. This activity took place on 6 October.

7 - To celebrate the International Day of Vision, we had a fun afternoon , which enjoyed going to the bowling alley. This activity begins at 17h. All members and relatives of the association were invited and attended more than two dozen people.

7 - Solidarium is a day dedicated to solidarity for all students, faculty and staff two from the University of Navarra and for all people who want to have more contact with the experience dierecto solidarity.
The activities were in the building of social sciences at the University of Navarra, on October 15 between 16 and 2230.
We collaborate with an information booth and participated in the workshop of disability that was put in the situation of people with visual disabilities to different glasses were used in simulations of diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, AMD, myopia, retinitis ... and also simulated blindness with a mask and staff so they could go and see how they felt.


EUOOT-UPC-UNESCO Chair in Visual Health and Development, oxo, Amir, Barraquer Foundation

School of Optics at the UPC in Terrassa (EUOOT) organized for the World Sight Day a stand which school students were tested for measures of dynamic visual acuity and sensitivity in order to obtain data linking it to gender.

AMIR Association presented at the School of Optics Terrassa, invited by the UNESCO Chair in Visual Health and Development, coordinator of the event, informative guide for high myopia, Eidt by his institution. Responsible for providing the lecture were Dr. Frederic Cofan, Dr. William Roca and Mrs. Carme Mancebo.

Martinez and Sara Joan Antoni Pastor, both members of the NGO OxO gave a talk about literacy in the area of \u200b\u200bthe Atlantic Coast of Nicaragua and its relation to gender DISCRIMINATION access to eye health.




Barraquer Foundation

The Mod. Amelia Robles explained, in the same event to mark the World Sight Day at the School of Optics, an interesting presentation of data around the gender and eye health and on development cooperation projects that the foundation carries out.





University Center Visió (CUV)

More than 100 people visited the marquee of the CUV in the Plaça Vella de Terrassa
The space, which remained open throughout the day, intended to raise awareness about convenience of visual health care and regular visits to a specialist

Celebrate with us on World Sight Day

Vision On 8 October is World Sight Day, an opportunity for agencies and eye care professionals, and health in general, show their commitment and join in a solidarity action in support of Right to View

This celebration is part of an international program called Vision 2020, which is the ultimate goal to eradicate preventable blindness, and treatable or curable by 2020. V2020 is a strategy of the World Health Organization, the International Agency for Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), professional eye care sector in general and NGO's.

The UNESCO Chair in Visual Health and Development coordinated the campaign in our country in the previous edition, dedicated to the group of the Third Age, which joined other prestigious institutions and professionals in the sector.

In support thereof, the Chair issued a fairy tale and a cd of games, which were distributed free among the participants and which this year will again be distributed.
